Observing the Day

Romans 14:5–11

I have heard many sincere Christians quoting this text as the reason they do not keep the sabbath on the seventh day as described in the ten commandments. They typically say, “Paul writes that to some a day is sacred, and to others every day is sacred, and that which day we see as sacred is up to us. We must all be convinced in our own minds.” But is that what Paul was writing to Rome? Is that what God would have us understand today?
